After a down-to-the-wire victory on Wednesday, all eyes are on Amy and if she can turn her win into a hot streak.

Despite a surprisingly rough game all around, it seems she just might.

After the Jeopardy! round, she had $5,800, Tyler led with $6,200 off the first Daily Double (cue fist pump), and Justin had $800.

In Double Jeopardy, Amy stole the show with 13 correct responses, while her foes only got in three times combined.

Amy also found both Daily Doubles, losing $3,000 on the second and only gaining $2,000 on the third.

There were 15 triple stumpers overall and four unplayed clues, which Ken Jennings bluntly pointed out going into Final Jeopardy.

That said, Amy dazzled as she pulled off a runaway with $18,800, while Tyler had $8,600, and Justin had $2,000.

The clue under "STATUES" read, "The 42-foot-high statue of Athena in this state capital is the tallest indoor statue in the United States."

No one came up with "Nashville," and Amy dropped just $5 to win $18,795 and a no-nonsense two-day total.

SLOW AND STEADY

Fans flooded social media, impressed by Amy's command of the second round, even though four clues were left on the board. Many said this was because she was playing slowly.

"Today's Double Jeopardy should be called The Amy Hummel Show. She was about the only one ringing in," one Redditor wrote.

"Over 13 clues in DJ, my went from "behind" to "in a lock position". That is impressive!"

Another fan posted, "Amy was taking time selecting clues."

Another agreed, "Amy is very good but she pauses before picking almost every clue. The other barely answered in the DJ round. So that did not help with the pace. Terrible that four clues got left behind!"

"Amy pissed me off so bad. Omg, taking her own time selecting. Ugh," wrote a fourth on X.

Others wondered if this was a strategic move, "Did Amy intentionally speak slowly in Double Jeopardy so they would run out of time thereby hindering Tyler from catching up to her score?" wrote a fifth.

Redditors also pointed out that leaving clues seemed to work in her favor: "I thought it was a bit of a savvy move for Amy to stay away from the last $2000 clue after getting the 1-minute warning."

One more wrote, "Amy played a clever game!"

And opponent Justin gushed on Reddit, "Amy was incredible, though, both in terms of knowledge and prowess on the buzzer! Even on the ones that I also knew, she beat me out just about every time."

THE DOCTOR IS IN

ManyJeopardy!fans are hungry for a hot streak, as no one's lasted long since the iconic five-day champAlison Bettslost last week.

And now it looks like fans may get their wish for back-to-back streakers in Amy.

Amy revealed during her first win that she's a "nomad," having lived in four states in the last ten years given her profession.

Dr. Hummel is an emergency medicine physician in Madison, Wisconsin, according toUS News Health.

It sounds like her job makes the pressure on Jeopardy! look like a cakewalk.

She received her medical degree from University of Cincinnati College of Medicine and has been in practice between for nearly five years.

Her specialty is emergency medicine which entails having to, "rapidly assess and treat patients with catastrophic injuries."

"Common reasons to visit emergency rooms include heart attack, drug overdose, shock, burns and massive bleeding."

Fans are impressed so far, and have also not been shy in pointing out that Amy looks quite a bit like Maggie Gyleenhaal.

If Amy notches two more wins, she'll be in the next Tournament of Champions, which would quite remarkably make the roster three females.

She'd join Alison and Celebrity Jeopardy's Lisa Ann Walter as the only qualifiers yet.

Amy will face two new challengers tomorrow night to see if she can turn her two wins into the next big streak and perhaps become the show's next famous Amy.

JEOPARDY! MASTERS APPROACHES

Meanwhile,Jeopardy!Masterswill return for Season 2 in less than a week, premiering on Wednesday, May 1, 2024.

The six current highest-ranked contestants will compete in primetime on ABC, playingtwo gamesper hour-long episode.

The showdown will featureMasters Season 1championJames Holzhauer, returning contestantsMatt AmodioandMattea Roach, Producer's PickAmy Schneider, and newcomersYogesh RautandVictoria Groce.

The episodes will air at 8 p.m. but fear not, they will not interfere with regular gameplay, and both the regular show and Masters will air those nights.

The Masters grand prize is $500,000, a glitzy Alex Trebek trophy and the title ofJeopardy! MastersChampion.

On Thursday, the game show unveiled the two matchups for its premiere and the format on itswebsite.

Mattea will face Matt and Victoria in the very first quarterfinal match.

Then, in the same episode, James will face Yogesh and Amy.

James has changed his contestant bio from "self-proclaimed game show villain" to "self-described 'final boss.'"

WHAT IS: THE FORMAT?

Masters will begin with six quarterfinal episodes and 12 matches where no one is eliminated.

Then, the semifinals will begin on Friday, May 17, after the fifth and sixth placers are eliminated.

The finale will air on May 22. Two matches between the final three will determine the winner based on the highest cumulative score.

The buildup to Masters hasn't been without its drama as fans were stunned that Amy was named theProducer's Pick.

Amy recently and decisivelylost the Jeopardy! Invitational Tournament to Groce, only for both to move forward to Masters either way.

This also means Masters 2024 will only have two newcomers (JIT winner Groce and 2024 ToC winner Yogesh) instead of three.

"How do you have a tournament that eliminates people from masters but still pick them…" one fan reacted to the news.

"For the record, as a big Amy fan... I'm not a massive fan of this pick. it's kind of a predictable choice and I just don't know if her gameplay will hold up against the other five," wrote another.

"So then what was the point of the JIT," asked a third

Bosses also recently implied they passed on havingG.O.A.T Brad Rutter be the Producer's pick for Amy, which fans called "disgraceful".

MEET THE MASTERS

James, a 32-time winner and poker pro, won Master Season 1 in a breeze and only lost one match.

Mattea, 24, returns as the runner-up andthey nearly defeated James in the finale, who showed no signs of trouble until then.

Matt, 39, placed third last year and was the only player to notch a win against James the entire special.

"I feel like a stronger competitor,"Amodio said on his prep at a recent eventattended by The U.S. Sun.

Meanwhile, Yogesh punched his ticket by winning the2024 Tournament of Champions.

Victoria won theJeopardy's Invitational Tournamentagainst Amy and Andrew He, no small feat.

The Queen of The Chasehas everyone buzzing after her big JIT winearlier this month, andfans think she could even dethrone James.

Their faceoff comes as they are co-stars on the ABC sister show as experts.

In a Jeopardy-themedRedditforum, viewers have shared their picks, and many have chosen James to beat the competition. However, newcomerVictoria may give James a run for hismoney.

"Victoria really impressed me with her buzzer skills when she was on Jeopardy's Invitational Tournament," one fan wrote.
