It's like a much better Puffco Peak for your pocket.When I encounter something truly amazing, I have to share about it.But I do so with a major caveat: I was not paid nor given any device to make this review, it's 100% how I feel after getting to try this yesterday.I got the opportunity to sesh w/ Ted Reynolds of The Beam Vaporizer by Lumenary, Inc. & try out their device about to drop for purchase.Before I jump into specifics, let me be very clear: I've NEVER had such an incredible experience vaping concentrates than I did with The Beam.This isn't anything like the old school dab pens or e-rigs. But it is hella convenient & pocket sized.I can assure you, if you like using the Puffco Peak, you'll LOVE using this little vape rig. Let me tell you what I love about it:1. The Beam uses a laser fired downwards to lightly vaporize the concentrate from above, not below using a heating element. This results in not boiling your concentrates & burning off all the good flavor & terpenes right away. The laser is low temp & can be adjusted. Even at medium heat, I never once coughed from using this despite how big a hit I took.2. There are no e waste components to make this work. Just a ceramic "dab core" that is easily removed & dropped into cleaner or alcohol.Because they don't rely on gravity pushing the concentrate downward into a wick or heating plate like most rigs/vapes, they don't need awfully made cartridges full of heavy metals or questionable manufacturing practice.3. The battery life is fantastic. It lasted for multiple sessions over the course of 1.5 hours, where most devices being used as much would die off.This is because they use a good battery & because there is no heating element to keep hot. The battery is only used while the laser is firing.4. The flavor of the live rosin I shared with Ted NEVER went away. In ANY other device, the first hit is the tastiest & it just quickly diminishes per hit. By hit 3 or 4, you taste burning hash oil.NOT the case for The Beam. It tasted great until it was all used up. The laser only heats the top layer of the extract leaving all the stuff below intact. The heat isn't being distributed throughout.5. It's COOL AF. I mean, really, it's a friggen laser beam. It's pretty. It also provides haptic feedback so you know the laser is firing if you aren't looking at it. This is something Airo did really well, letting you know the hit is happening rather than pulling on a dead or clogged vape.The team is releasing this very soon for purchase. I'm grabbing one ASAP. I'm honestly sad I don't have one right this moment. It's been a really long time since I felt that way about ANY device in this industry.Link to website in comments.Keep an eye out on this.
