People say that when one door closes, another one opens. But what do you say when there is no door?* The photo was taken at the Temple of King Dinh Tien Hoang in Ninh Binh, Northern Vietnam. One more reason to make video calls : a girl called me and asked for help. She is applying to study abroad and is worried that she doesn't have enough time to prepare for the application form and the upcoming interview with the school in a few days. She asked for my assistance. During our voice call, she made sounds like she was crying (I assumed), and I felt sorry for her. I was about to say something to comfort her, but then she made those noises again and again, and it turned out she was laughing. 😂 I wish I had turned on the camera. It proves that our assumptions can be wrong and that some people can laugh off their worries. 😅 P.S.: This is my grandma and me . We live 1000km away from each other. Thank goodness for video calls; they allow us to see each other. I call it technology for humanity.

🌟Hey friends,I've noticed something about job applications lately that puzzles me. Many companies and schools say, "Send us your application. If we choose you, we'll call. If not, assume you weren't picked." But often, they don't specify when you'll hear back.Personally, I have never had to apply for a job with another person or business. I only have experience owning my own business, where I set my own working methods based on my upbringing, national culture, and values like Truthfulness, Compassion, and Tolerance. When recruiting about 30 cafe staff, tour guides, and volunteers—local and international—I always contacted every applicant. Whether I selected them or not, I invited them for a chat, bought them a drink, informed them of the results, and offered advice to help them in future applications. I believe everyone deserves an answer. To me, hiring should be like handling personal relationships. When someone confesses their love, even if I cannot respond in the same way, I kindly decline and wish them well in finding a better fit. I don't ignore them or pretend they are invisible. It's about respect and allowing people to move on.In my Vietnamese culture, we say, " Có trước có sau", meaning "Finish what you start." If you begin something, see it through.❓So why do many companies not respond to job applicants they don't choose? Could a quick email not spare a few seconds? This puzzles me, and I'd love to hear your thoughts. How does your company or country handle this? And why?Let's discuss. I value your insights and want to learn from you.Much love from Vietnam! 🧡 P.S: This photo was taken in 2019 (before Covid) at our The Railway Hanoi Cafe 2. My team and I were enjoying snacks and good chats during quiet times without customers. It was fun, but you can see it on the staff's faces—no cash!😁#GanJingWorld #VietnamwithThao #TheRailwayHanoiCafeStory

🌿 Have you ever heard of buffalo herding in Vietnam? 🌾The work is simple: you just need to take the buffalo from its barn to the garden to let it eat grass, and then take the buffalo back to the barn twice a day, from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. and from 1:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. The owner will pay you a salary of 💵 $160 USD per month (equivalent to that of a waiter at a coffee shop) and cover your food and accommodation.Sometimes, the owner even invites you to have 🍜 " Pho Bo" ( Beef noodle soup, *please notice it's beef, not buffalo) for breakfast and drink cold beer. Are you interested in trying out this job in Vietnam? Let me know in the comments!Follow me on Gan Jing World: " Vietnam with Thao" to discover interesting aspects of Vietnamese life. I'll leave the link in the comments section. Cam on!#ganjingworld #vietnamwiththao #thaofromvietnam #vietnamtravel #buffalo

I see this view from my balcony: a father is combing his daughter's hair while she eats noodles. He has been doing it for 15 minutes. When I was her age, I didn't live with my father because my parents divorced. But the Creator has been kind to me, allowing me to witness this scene and relive my childhood through someone else's life. Also, thank the Creator for sending me a book that changed my perspective and helped me reconnect with my father after 15 years of harboring resentment. To all the fathers out there, thank you for being fathers. If you are interested in the book I read, please leave a comment below, and I will share the link with you. It might help you see the world differently and heal your pain without you even realizing it.#nonfiction #philosophy #spirituality #selfhelp #healing #book #father
